Heute kommt ein weiteres Interview von der CONSOLFOOD 2018 in Faro.
Isabella Troconis hat dort in ihrem Vortrag über ein gescheitertes Solarkocherprojekt im Goudoubo-Flüchtlingscamp in Burkina Faso berichtet, das sie als Abschlussprojekt ihres Master-Studiengangs in Entwicklungspolitik an der London School of Economics and Political Science untersucht hat.
In unserem Interview stellt sie die Gründe vor, die dazu geführt haben, dass nur 2% der Frauen die dort eingeführten “Blazing Tube”-Solarkocher, eine spezielle Form des Vakuumröhrenkochers, als Zweitkochgerät verwenden. Ich fürchte, diese Gründe sind verallgemeinerbar, nämlich im Wesentlichen, dass die Kocher von Technikern in den Industrieländern ohne Kontakt zu den Frauen, die damit kochen sollen, komplett an deren Bedürfnissen und Notwendigkeiten vorbei entwickelt wurden.
Ausserdem schildert uns Isabella noch kurz, wie sie die CONSOLFOOD erlebt hat.

Isabella Troconis shares her insights into the reasons why the introduction of the Blazing Tube solar cooker (BT) in Goudoubo Refugee Camp, Burkina Faso between 2013 and 2016 completely failed.
From my point of view Isabella represents the necessary renaissance in the “solar cooking saves Africa”-religion and I am sure that Isabella’s work will help the solar cooking movement to reach the next stage of development
This process has already begun anyway.
